30-Day Limited Warranty

 

THE SUMMARY

We want to take the uncertainty out of buying retro tech and give you a product that goes the distance. Devices refurbished by High Fidelty Vinyl are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in workmanship for a period of 30 days from the date the item was delivered (determined via tracking). 

During the warranty period, we'll repair or replace defective parts at no cost to you. Shipping charges are covered by High Fidelty Vinyl for customers in Canada. Beginning on the date the warranty-repaired item is delivered to the return address (determined via tracking), we will extend the warranty for 14 more days. After those 14 days, or after the original 30 day warranty has passed (whichever comes last), any subsequent repairs will be offered at an additional cost. 

New items (i.e. not refurbished by High Fidelty Vinyl) from third-party suppliers are not covered under this warranty.

THE LONG VERSION

For vintage devices refurbished by High Fidelty Vinyl, and for repair services sold through, and performed by, High Fidelty Vinyl.

By purchasing a High Fidelty Vinyl refurbished product or device or a refurbishment service performed by High Fidelty Vinyl (the “Product”), you agree to be bound by the terms of the High Fidelty Vinyl 90-day limited warranty (the “Warranty”) as set out below.

Do not use your product until you have read the terms of this limited Warranty. If you do not agree to the terms of this limited Warranty, do not use the product and return it within the fourteen (14) days (in accordance to Retrosepkt’s standard return policy) from the date of delivery for refund to (i) High Fidelty Vinyl in the case you bought the Product directly through High Fidelty Vinyl or (ii) the retailer where you purchased it in the case you bought through an authorized High Fidelty Vinyl reseller.

This warranty may be transferable with pre-approval. Contact service@High Fidelty Vinyl.com if you plan to transfer the ownership of your item to another individual. Transfer of warranty does not affect its 90-day scope.

 

What the Warranty Covers

Products stated to be refurbished by High Fidelty Vinyl, and refurbishment services performed on customer devices by High Fidelty Vinyl, are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date the item was delivered (determined via tracking). 

 

High Fidelty Vinyl's Response to Warranty Claim

During the warranty period, High Fidelty Vinyl shall repair or replace defective parts at no cost to the customer. Shipping charges are covered by High Fidelty Vinyl for customers in Canada. On the date the warranty-repaired item is delivered to the return address (determined via tracking), High Fidelty Vinyl will extend the original warranty for 14 additional days. After these 14 days have passed or after the original 90 day warranty has passed (whichever comes last) the warranty will be void and subsequent repairs will be at the cost of the customer.

When a Product or any of its parts are replaced, any item or parts issued as replacements become the property of the customer and the replaced Product or parts becomes the property of High Fidelty Vinyl.

If High Fidelty Vinyl deems a Product is unable to be serviced under warranty, High Fidelty Vinyl's customer service team will, at its sole discretion, offer a comparable replacement or refund for the product or service.

 

Making a Claim

To start a claim under warranty, first contact High Fidelty Vinyl's customer service (contact@highfidelityvinyl.store). High Fidelty Vinyl may require proof of purchase details (e.g. the order number or receipt), and may begin the troubleshooting process via email or phone in an attempt to diagnose potential issues and provide simple fixes able to be carried out by the customer quickly without having to send in the Product. Once sufficient information is collected, High Fidelty Vinyl's customer service team will provide the necessary details for obtaining warranty service by mail.

In returning the Product, the Product must be delivered in either its original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection. Once a warranty repair has been approved, the item in question must be returned to High Fidelty Vinyl within 7 days, unless otherwise noted by High Fidelty Vinyl's customer service team.

High Fidelty Vinyl will not be responsible for any loss or damage incurred in transit or otherwise in connection with the return of the Product to High Fidelty Vinyl, nor will High Fidelty Vinyl be responsible for any additional items included in the package but not originally part of the Product.

Important: Do not attempt to open the Product or remove any protective caps attached to the Product. Opening the Product or removing protective caps may cause damage that is not covered by this limited Warranty. Evidence that a customer attempted to perform repairs without instruction from High Fidelty Vinyl on a Product may void the warranty. Only High Fidelty Vinyl should perform service on the Product.

 

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover defects or damage due to alteration, accident, or misuse beyond the control of High Fidelty Vinyl. Defects or damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or negligence will void this warranty. This warranty does not cover cosmetic wear inherent to a refurbished vintage item, nor wear resulting from subsequent usage by the customer during, or outside of, the warranty period. 

 

This limited Warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as cassettes, batteries, or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches or dents unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (c) to damage caused by use with a third party component or product; (d) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, mishandling, misplacement, or alteration; (e) to damage caused by fire, earthquake, electrical power problems, theft, or other external cause; (f) to damage caused by operating the Product outside High Fidelty Vinyl's published guidelines and/or with incompatible accessories or a third party device; (g) to damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not authorized by High Fidelty Vinyl; (h) to a Product that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of High Fidelty Vinyl; (i) to defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product; (j) to damages or defects due to a failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions or due to services performed by anyone other than High Fidelty Vinyl; (k) if any High Fidelty Vinyl serial number has been removed or defaced from the Product; (l) to damage caused as a result of improper transportation or packing/packaging when returning the Product; or (m) if High Fidelty Vinyl receives information from relevant public authorities that the product has been stolen or proof of purchase cannot be presented.

This limited Warranty does not apply to any Product purchased from a retailer located outside of Canada.

 

Warranty Limitations Subject to Consumer Law

To the extent permitted by law, this limited Warranty and the remedies set forth are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, remedies, and conditions, whether oral, written, statutory, express, or implied. High Fidelty Vinyl disclaims all statutory and implied warranties, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and warranties against hidden or latent defects, to the extent permitted by law. High Fidelty Vinyl's maximum liability is limited to the purchase price you paid for the Product. In so far as such warranties cannot be disclaimed, High Fidelty Vinyl limits the duration and remedies of such warranties to the duration of this express limited Warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty may last, in which case the limitation described above may not apply.

 

Limitation of Liability

Except as provided in this limited Warranty and to the maximum extent permitted by law, High Fidelty Vinyl is not responsible for direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages resulting from any breach of warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, including, but not limited to, overhead expenses, loss of use, loss of revenue, loss of actual or anticipated profits, loss of the use of money, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of productivity, loss of goodwill, loss of reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage howsoever caused including the replacement of equipment and property.

The foregoing shall not apply to death or personal injury claims, or any statutory liability for intentional and gross negligent acts and/or omissions.

 

General

If any term of this limited Warranty is held to be illegal, void, or unenforceable, the legality, validity, or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected or impaired. This limited Warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of the country in which the Product purchase took place. High Fidelty Vinyl or its successor in title is the warrantor under this limited Warranty.

High Fidelty Vinyl reserves the right to amend or change this policy over time as necessary.
